[93] !Emigrated to Ohio in 1807. Served in war of 1812, became a devotedpatriot. Built first cording machine in Tazewell county, section 34,Elm Grove twp, 1832. It was powered by oxen treading on an inclinewheel. People came from Knox, Peoria and Sangamon counties to gettheir wool corded. History records that he was a devoted patriot, aworthy, honest and upright citizen.
