JACOB FISHER (MOLESTON, DANIEL) was born 23 Feb 1805 in Guilford,Co, NC, and died 1883 in Huntington CO, IN. He married CATHERINE PILCHER 05 Apr 1824. She was born 1810 in Maryland, and died 13 Mar 1864.

Moved to Polk Township, Huntington Co, IN Oct 1836 with Brother Nathan and Father Moleston.

From the records of Polk Township:

"In September 1836 Jacob Fisher came with his family of nine persons from Wilmington OH and settled on the northwest quarter of Section 24 near the eastern boundary of Huntington Co, IN. For nearly half a century he remained a resident, his death occurring in 1885 at the age of 72.
The sound of his ax was the first to break the deep stillness of the primeval forest which up to the time of his coming had been the retreat of the wile beast and the hunting ground of the uncivilized Indian. A little later he was joined by his brother Nathan Fisher who settled nearby.
In 1840 John D. Fisher, George Fisher, Elias Fisher and Samuel Fisher came to Polk Township. The first church was a Methodist Episcopal church which met at the home of Nathan Fisher.
The first child born in Polk township was Silas, son of Nathan Fisher. The first death was that of Susannah, Daughter of Nathan Fisher. In his family there was another son, named David.
The first marriage was that of Elizabeth Fisher and Charles Morgan in 1838. Another early marriage recorded was that of Simon Fisher.
John Pilcher laid out Monument City in 1874."

Records of George E. Fisher of Oak Harbor WA state that Moliston (son of Jacob) was born in Clinton Co, OH, which would indicate that the Fishers lived in OH for at least a few years around 1833. This would explain the statement above about them moving to IN from OH. [Norm Fisher 4/13/1998]

DANIEL FISHER, b. 07 Mar 1836, Huntington CO, IN; d. 18 May 1907, Marion, IN.
LUCINDA FISHER, b. 02 Apr 1838; d. 18 Nov 1855.
WILLIAM FISHER, b. 05 Jan 1840; d. 17 Nov 1871.
JESSE FISHER, b. 11 Apr 1843; d. 15 Mar 1881; m. LAURA GRANT.
